On March 8th, International Women’s Day, focusing on the economic situation of women* seems particularly important against the backdrop of current crises (pandemic, Ukraine war, energy crisis, and inflation), as these further exacerbate the precarious living and employment conditions of women*, especially women* with care responsibilities, and differences in employment biographies.
In the higher education context, women* are particularly often affected by atypical and precarious employment relationships – characterized by fixed-term contracts, part-time positions, and in some areas, low-paid tariff groups.
Taking into account heterogeneous life situations and biographies of women* in higher education, the lecture deals with concepts and connections between the Gender Pay Gap, Gender Care Gap, and Gender Pension Gap.
It aims to educate and encourage reflection on one’s own money biography and approach to the topic of money, as well as provide concrete knowledge and tips on financial security and retirement planning.
